அன்று 2009.03.10 வாழ் நாளில் மறக்க முடியாத நாளாகும். குண்டு வெடித்தாலும் தனக்கான பொறுப்பை முறையாக நிறைவேற்றிய நாளகும். அன்றைய தினம் தேசிய மீலாத் தினத்திற்காக ஊரே கலைகட்டியிருந்தது. தேசிய மீலாத் தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு ஊரே விழாக்கோலம் பூண்டிருந்தது. இவ்விழாவை முன்னிட்டு பல்வேறு கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகளும் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தது. காலையிலே பள்ளி முற்றவெளிக்கு சென்றிருந்த எல்லோரையும் பாதுகாப்பு பிரிவினர் பரிசோதனை செய்து உட்செல்ல அனுமதி அளித்தனர்.
அதிதிகள் வருகைதரும் நேரம் நெருங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தது. அதிதிகளை வரவேற்க மாணவர்களாகிய நாம் பாதையின் இருமருங்கிலும் நின்றிருந்தோம்.
திடீரென அதிபர் என்னை அழைத்து “உங்களுக்கு ஒரு பொறுப்பு வழங்கப்படுகின்றது. அதிதியாக வரும் இரு பெண்களை வரவேற்கும் வகையில் அவர்களுக்கு அத்தர் பூச வேண்டும்” எனக் கூறினார். நானும் அதனை ஏற்று சற்று முன் சென்றேன். அதிதிகள் பின்னால் பவணி வர முன்னால் தென்னிலங்கையில் பிரசித்தி பெற்ற ரிபாய் ராத்திபினை (ரபான்) இசைத்துச் சென்றனர்.
நான் முன்னே சென்று பெண் அதிதிகளுக்கு அத்தர் பூசி விட்டு திரும்ப முனைந்ததுதான் தாமதம் பட்டாசு வெடிக்கும் சத்தம் கேட்டது. நானும் மகிழ்ச்சிக் கொந்தளிப்பில் பட்டாசு கொளுத்துகிறார்கள் என எண்ணி பின்னோக்கி திரும்பினேன். வானத்தை நோக்கி தீப் பிழம்பு சென்றது. அப்போதுதான் புரிந்தது வெடித்தது பட்டாசு அல்ல குண்டு என்று மக்களெல்லாம் சிதறி ஒடினர்.
கறுப்புத் தார்ப்பாதை சிவப்பாக மாறியிருந்தது. மனித தலைகளும் கை கால்களும் பாதையில் சிதறிக் கிடந்தன. நடப்பது கனவா? அல்லது நிஜமா என்பதை எண்ணவே ஒரு மணிநேரம் தேவைப்பட்டது. மக்கள் எல்லோரும் அல்லோலகல்லோப்படும் போது நியாஸ் மௌலவி அவர்கள் மக்களை நோக்கி “அமைதி அமைதி……” எனத் தொடங்கி பல விடயங்களை கூறி மக்களை அமைதிப் படுத்த முயற்சித்தார். பின்னர் ஊர் மக்களுக்கு வீடுகளுக்கு செல்லுமாறு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. எங்கு செல்லா வேண்டும் என்பது கூடத் அறியாமல் வேறு திசையில் சென்று பலமணி நேரங்களின் பின் வீட்டை அடைந்தேன்.
இத் தேசிய மீலத் விழா நிகழ்வில் தொலைத்தொடர்பு அமைச்சர் மஹிந்த விஜேசேகர, மற்றும் அன்றைய பாரளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்களான A.H.M. பவ்ஸி, அமீர் அலி, மஹிந்த யாபா அபேவர்ந்தன, பன்ந்து பண்டாரநாயக்க, சந்ர ஸ்ரீ கஜதீர ஆகியோர் கலந்து கொண்டனர். மேலும் பல உள்ளூர் அரசியல்வாதிகளும் கலந்து சிறப்பித்தனர்
மேற்குறித்த குண்டு வெடிப்பு சம்பத்தில் 15 பேர் உயிரிழந்ததுடன் சுமார் 50 பேர் காயமடைந்தனர். உயிரிழந்தவர்களுல் 11 பேர் சிங்கள சகோததர்களாகும். மேலும் இன்றுவரை (2020.03.10) 11 ஆண்டுகளாகியும் கோம நிலையில் மாத்தறை மாவட்ட அமைச்சர் மஹிந்த விஜேசேகர அவர்களும் நிரந்தர அங்கவீனராகித் துன்பத்துடன் வாழ்க்கை நடாத்துகின்றார்.
இக்குண்டுத்தாக்குதலில் போர்வையைச் சேர்ந்த எவரும் இறக்கவில்லை. என்றாலும் அல்ஹாஜ் M.H.M. ஸமீம்¸ சகோதரர்களான M.A. ஸப்ரான்¸ M.A. அப்லார் உட்பட பலர் காயமடைந்தனர். இதில் தமது கண்பார்வையை இழந்த ஒருவரே தென்னிலங்கையின் பிரபல இறக்குமதி வியாபார நிறுவனமான DBL நிறுவனத்தின் உரிமையாளர் நஜீப்தீன் ஹாஜ் அவர்கள். இவர் தமக்கு மீண்டும் பார்வை கிடைத்தமைக்கு நன்றிக்கடனாக போர்வை. முஹியந்தீன் ஜும்மா மஸ்ஜித்துக்கு பெற்றோலில் இயங்கும் ஜெனரேட்டர் ஒன்றை அன்பளிப்புச் செய்தார்.
இக்குண்டுத் தாக்குதல் ஓர் தற்கொலை குண்டுத்தாக்குதலாகும். குறித்த குண்டுத்தாக்குதலை அன்று நாட்டில் இருந்த தீவிரவாத அமைப்பான விடுதலை புலிகள் அமைப்பினால் (LTTE) நடாத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. குறித்த குண்டுத் தாக்குதலை Senthamil எனும் பெயரையுடைய தற்கொலை குண்டுத்தாக்குதல்தாரியே நடாத்தியுள்ளார்.
குண்டு வெடிப்புச் சம்பவத்தின் நேரடி அனுபவம் பற்றி சகோதரர் பைஸர் அவர்கள் குறிப்பிடுகையில்,
“ஒருவர் சந்தேகத்திற்கிடமான முறையில் செயல்பட்டார். எனவே அவர் என் அருகில் வந்ததும் நான் அவரது கையைப் பிடித்து அருகில் இருந்த ஒரு போலீஸ்காரரை அழைத்தேன். ஆனால் அதிகாரி தலையிடுவதற்கு முன்பு அவர் என் பிடியில் இருந்து விடுபட்டு முன்னேறினார். சிறிது நேரத்தில் குண்டு வெடிப்புச் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டு நான் அதிர்ச்சியடைந்தேன். பின்னர் நான் நினைவுக்கு வந்தபோது உடல்கள் எல்லா இடங்களிலும் பரவியிருப்பதைக் கண்டேன், ”என்று கூறினார்.
