ஒவ்வொருவருடைய மன நிலைகளும் கவலையில் ஆழ்ந்திருந்தன. இன்று என்ன நடக்கும் இல்லை. நாளை தான் என்ன நடக்கும். ஸிராஜின் தாயாரை எப்படி சமாதானப் படுத்துவது.
அவள் தான் பிடிவாதக்காறியாயிற்றே இப்படி இணங்கிப் போவாள். அவள் நினைத்தபடி அவனுக்கு எப்படியும் இரண்டாம் திருமணம் செய்து வைத்து விடுவாளே. என்று எண்ணும் போதே உள்ளங்கள் கணத்தன எதுவும் செய்ய முடியாமல் பதறித் துடித்தன. ஆளுக்கால் யோசனைக் கடலில் மூழ்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
நடந்த நிகழ்வுகளை கேள்வியுற்று பொங்கி எழுந்த அலையைப் போல கோபத்தோடு தனது தாயிடம் செல்ல முற்பட்ட ஸிராஜைத் தடுத்து நிறுத்தினாள் ஜெஸீறா. இருந்தாலும் அவன் அதைக் கேட்காமல் மறுபடியும் செல்ல முட்பட்டான்.
“இங்க பாருங்க, இப்ப போய் என்ன செய்யப் போறிங்க, உங்க உம்மாக்கு இருக்குற கோபம் இன்னும் அதிகமாவும், அங்கட பக்கமும் நியாயம் இருக்க்குத் தான.”
“என்ன நியாயம்? நான் இரண்டாது கல்யாணம் முடிக்குறதா நியாயம். அவங்க உன்ன காயப்படுத்தினதெல்லாம் போதும் இதோட எல்லாத்தையும் முடிச்சிட்டு வாரன்.”
“நான் ஒரு முடிவுக்கு வந்துட்டன். நான் சொன்னா கேப்பிங்களா.”
“என்ன? நீயும் என்னஇன்னொரு கல்யாணம் முடிக்க சொல்லயா போறாய்”
“அதுல என்ன தப்பு இருக்கு. மார்க்கத்துலயும் அனுமதி இருக்கு. உங்க உம்மாக்கும் ஒரு பேரப் புள்ளய பாக்கனும் தூக்கிக் கொஞ்சனும்னு ஆச இருக்காதா. யோசிச்சி பாருங்க. இந்த பிரச்சின நீண்டு போய் எல்லாருக்குள்ளயும் மனமுறிவு ஏற்படுறத விட அவங்கட விருப்பப் படியே விட்டுக் கொடுத்துப் போவலாம.”
என்னதான் ஜெஸீறா விட்டுக் கொடுக்க நினைத்தாலும். விலக முடியாத பாசமும் நேசமும் கடலளவு தேக்கி வைத்திருந்தாள். எங்கு அன்பு அதிகமாகிறதோ அங்கி பிரச்சினைகளும் புதிய வடிவில் தோற்றம் எடுக்கத்தான் செய்கின்றன.
இன்றைய சமூகத்தில் குழந்தை இன்மை என்பது பெரும்பாலுப் பெண்கள் சார்ந்த குறையாகவே கணக்கெடுக்கப் படுகிறது. அதில் எந்த ஆணுக்கும் ‘மலடன்’ என்ற பட்டத்தை யாரும் சூட்டியதில்லை. ஆனால் பெண்களை மட்டும் ‘மலடி’ எனும் பட்டம் சூட்டி வகை வகையாக சித்திரவதை செய்கிறது இந்த சமூகம். அதில் இவள் மட்டும் என்ன விதி விலக்கா. இல்லை குழந்தை இல்லாதது இவள் தவறா.
“நீ என்ன தான் சொன்னாலும். என்னால இதுக்கெல்லாம் சம்மதிக்க ஏழாது. பத்து பதினஞ்சி வருசத்துக்குப் பிறகும் புள்ள கிடச்ச எத்தன பேர நாம பாத்திருக்கம். அதலாம் ஏன் எங்க உம்மாக்குக் கூட பத்து வருசத்துக்குப் பிறகு தான் எங்க நானா பிறந்த. இதல்லாம் மறந்துட்டு அவங்க இப்புடி நடந்துக்குறது எந்த நியாயமும் இல்ல. நான் போய் அவங்கள்ட பேசிட்டு வாரன்.”
ஒரு வழியாக அங்கிருந்து நகர்ந்து சென்ற ஸிராஜ் இரண்டு மணி நேரங்களுக்குப் பிறகு பிரச்சினைகளைத் தீர்த்தவாறு ஒரு விதமான புன்னகையோடு வந்து சேர்ந்தான்.
அவனுடைய முக பாவனையை அவதானித்தவர்களால் ஏதோ நல்லது தான் நடந்திருக்கிறது என்று ஊகிக்க முடிந்திருந்தது.
அவனும்
“இனி ஒரு பிரச்சினையும் இல்ல உம்மா சமாதானமாவிட்டாங்க. நீங்க நிம்மதியா இருங்க.”
என்று கூறியதும், ஜெஸீறாவுக்கு குழந்தையே உருவாகி விட்டது போன்ற ஒரு சந்தோஷம் வீட்டாரும் நிம்மதிப் பெருமூச்சுடன் அவரவர் வேலைகளின் பால் மீண்டார்கள்.
ஒரு பெண்ணுக்கு எந்த உறவு எப்படி இருந்தாலும் பெற்றோருக்கு அடுத்து கனவன் என்ற உறவு சரியாக அமைந்து விட்டாளே அவளுடைய அத்தனை வழிகளும் வலிகளும் சீராகி விடுகிறது.
என்னதான் ஸிராஜுடைய முக பாவ எந்த ஒரு சஞ்சலத்தையும் காட்டிக் கொள்ளாமல் மறைத்திருந்தாலும் அவனுடைய உள்ளம் சுக்கு நூறாகிக் கிடந்தது. அத்தனையையும் தன்னை நம்பிக் கரம் பிடித்த ஜெஸீறாவுக்காக தாங்கிக் கொண்டான்.
