”உம்மா…. நான் கேக்கிய?”
கண்களை உருட்டி ஹபீபும்மாவைப் பார்த்தாள் நஜ்மா.
“இன்டேக்கி என்த சொல்ல போறாளோ? ” மனதால் வைதபடியே
“என்ன சொல்ல போற?”
“அது….. அதுவந்து…” உமிழ் நீரை விழுங்கியபடி மீண்டும் ஆரம்பிக்கவும்,
”சொல்லி தொலை… எனக்கு வேல இருச்சி….”
எரிச்சலுடன் கூறவும், மனதில் தைரியத்தை வரவழைத்துக் கொண்டு
”உம்மா….. அது வந்து… நான் கராத்தே கிலாஸ்கு போகவா? ”
இந்த வார்த்தைகள் ஹபீபும்மாவின் காதுகளுக்கு இடியிறங்குவதைப் போலிருந்தது.
”என்னடி சொன்ன? மறுவாட்டி திருப்பி சொல்லு பாக்க… கன்னம் பொழக்கும்”
நஜ்மா இதை எதிர்பார்த்துத் தான் வந்தாள். அதனால் அவரின் வார்த்தைகள் அவளை பாதிக்கவில்லை.
”போடி… ஆம்புள மாய் வளந்தா இப்படி தா… இனி….”
நஜ்மா காதுகளில் விரல்களை அடைத்துக் கொண்டாள். ஸலாம் கூறிக்கொண்டு உள் நுழைந்த பஸீர்ஹாஜி
”என்ன.? வழம மாதி ஆரம்பிச்சீடீங்களா? ”
”வாப்பா… பாருங்கவே உம்மாவ..? ”
கண்களைக் கசக்கியவளை கைத்தாங்கலாக பிடித்துக்கொண்டு உள்ளே சென்றார்.
”ஹபீபா… என்ன இது? எப்ப பாத்தாலும் மகளோட சண்ட…”
அவரையும், மகளையும் மாறி மாறி முறைத்துப் பார்த்து,
”ஓ… சண்ட தா… ஆனா.. இன்டேகி ஒங்கட செல்ல மக எந்தேன் சென்னன்டு தெரீமா? ”
கைகளால் மகளின் முதுகை வருடிக் கொண்டே
”என்ன கேட்டுட்டா ? ”
”ஆ… அத வாயால செல்லேலா… அவ செல்லிய ஆம்புளகைஜா… செல்லிய… கராட்டி கிலாஸ் போறாம்….”
பஸீர் ஹாஜி குனிந்து மகளைப் பார்த்து,
”உண்மயா புள்ள? ”
அவள் தலையாட்டவும் ,
”அது… அது அவளே செல்லிய… மனசுகுள்ள எந்தியோ தெரிய நெனச்சிகொண்டீச்சி…. சீ… வெளீல கேள்விபட்டா மானமே போகும்…. அதுகும் ஐசும்மாட காதுல புழுந்தா செல்ல தேவில்ல இனி….”
ஆக்ரோஷமாக ஹபீபும்மா கூறிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் போதே நஜ்மா அழுதாள்.
”இங்க பாருங்கோ…. நீலிக் கண்ணீர் வடிச்சிய… நீங்க நாலு செல்லுங்கோ ஆம்புள கைஜாக்கு…”
கை நீட்டி அடிக்கப் போனவளை தடுத்து,
”இங்க பாரு… புள்ளேகி அடிச்சிய வேல வெச்சிகொளாத! நா அவட பேசியன்….”
பயந்து நடுங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த நஜ்மாவை தன் பக்கமாக திருப்பி
”இங்க பாரு புள்ள… நீ எந்துகன் அது பழக ஆசப்படிய? ”
கண்களைத் துடைத்துக் கொண்டே,
”அதுவா வாப்பா… நீங்க பாருங்கவே… இந்த காலதுல அதெல்லம் தெரிஞ்சீச்சோணும்…. அடுத்தது வாப்பா இது பொம்புளேகளுக்கு மட்டும் லேடி மாஸ்டர் பழக்கியது… அது சுட்டி தா.. எகட கிலாஸ் புள்ளேகளும் போற வாப்பா…”
கெஞ்சாக் குறையாக சொன்னவளைப் பார்த்து ,
”ம்… போ…நீ…”
நஸீர் ஹாஜியின் வார்த்தைகள் நஜ்மாவின் காதுகளில் தேனை வார்த்தது போலினித்தது.
”ஜஸாகல்லாஹைர் வாப்பா…” அவரை கட்டிக் கொண்டாள்.
”ம்… இப்டியே செல்லம் குடுங்கோ… ஆம்புளயானா வெலங்கும்…”
ஹபீபும்மாவின் வார்த்தைகளில் எரிச்சல் கலந்திருந்தது.
“ம்… போங்கவா… எனக்கு வாப்பா நிச்சி…”
அவள் ஆனந்தக் களிப்பில் அவர்களை கடந்து சென்றதும்,
”இது… அவ தெரியா தனத்துல பேசினாலும் நீங்க ஒத்துகொள்ளியா… வெளீல தெரிஞ்சா… எல்லாரும் செல்லியோண்டும் ஆம்புள மாதி என்டு பரவாயில்லயா?”
பெருமூச்சு விட்டபடியே அவள் கூறி முடித்ததும், புன்னகையுடன்
”இங்க பாரு… என்ட புள்ளயபத்தி எனக்கு தெரீம்… கராட்டி ஆம்புளேக மட்டுமல்ல.. பொம்புள புள்ளேகளும் தெரிஞ்சுகொலோணும்… அந்த சான்ஸ் எகடூர்ல இருச்சி.. புள்ள போகட்டும்….”
நஸீர் ஹாஜியின் சொற்களைக் கேட்டவள்,
”சரி…சரி… எந்தியோ.. ஆனா அவள கெடுக்கியதே நீங்க தா…”
கோபத்துடன் கூறிவிட்டு நகர்ந்தவளை நோக்கி,
”ஆமா… ஒன்னமாதிரி ஆள்கள திருத்தவே ஏலா…”
நஸீர் ஹாஜி விரக்தியுடன் கூறினார்.
