This poem is dedicated
To whoever stood behind us
To make this course a success
Since Pgdem is a turning point!

I remember the day
For the first time
From all eight directions
That we’ve been here
We all were new to each other!

But today I feel this – whole heatedly
We all are like the kids of a same mother!
Indeed, we are children of mother Lanka!

I see the time as wind chariot
With so many hardships
Dangers and disasters
Rain drops and tear drops!!
We underwent all these pressures!
So that we will gain treasures!

We have come to an end!
So that we have become friends!
With lots of efforts and busy schedules
Even busier than the bees
Our devotedness and dedicatedness
And all our desires we sacrificed!

From all parts of the island together
Here we’ve gathered
With lots of courage
For the sake of knowledge!!
For the bar of barrier
For the sake of our carrier!!

What we reaped here
Let us sow them there
With great anxiety, effort and fashion
With anxious, pleasure and passion!

Let us take the privilege
That what we reaped here
To sow and harvest at our fields!!
Without any yields!!

As adults, guides, and learneds
Let us pray and spread the seed of love
By imparting knowledge and experience!!
You might be thinking how!

Let us inculcate good attitudes
Let us teach them to be swans
To pick the good from the bad!!
So that they become our fans!

Our minds are like flowers
If we keep them as it is
It is beautiful and lovely!
And the fragrance spreads!

Children of same mother are different
Then how can we expect
all children to be the very same!
So it’s our role to mould them
So that we need to be a model!

Useful fruitful and careful
Positive thoughts words and deeds
Will create a pleasant mind
So that all will be kind!

We are the ladder
And let us make others climb
And let us move and go up too!

We are the lamps
to light up several other
So, let’s spread love and kindness
In everything and everywhere carefully
So that we achieve success easily!

Let not our tongue speak of ill effects
Whatever the mother tongue is!!
Whatever the mistake is!!
Let us forgive and forget
All the woes and worries
But let us make it a lesson!

To achieve beautiful dreams
Let’s remember that
Every individual is a part of Mother Lanka!

Let’s remember, our words and deeds
Tell others who we are!
So let us use them properly
To spread peace and harmony!
