ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee opened at 299.00/25 to the US dollar in the spot forex market on Tuesday, from 299.00/10 on Monday, dealers said, while bond yields were broadly steady.

A bond maturing on 15.12.2026 was quoted at 11.30/32 percent from 11.30/35 percent.

A bond maturing on 15.12.2028 was quoted at 12.05/15 percent from 12.10/20 percent.

The Colombo Stock Exchange opened down; The All Share Price Index dropped below the 12,000 mark – down 0.79 percent at 11,911. The S&P SL20 was also down 1.09 percent at 3,526. (Colombo/Apr16/2024)
