கதவு தட்டப்படும் ஓசை கேட்டு திறந்தவள்,
”பர்ஹா…. வா… உள்ளுகு…. நான் நெனச்ச நீ வாரல்லயோ தெரியாவன்டு”
பர்ஹா மௌனமாகவே உள்ளே சென்று அமர்ந்தாள்.
”சரி…. எந்தேன் விஷேசம் இன்டேகி ஒகடூட்ல….”

சட்டென ஷிப்னாவை அணைத்துக் கொண்டு அழத்தொடங்கினாள்.
”அல்லாவே….. எந்தேன் நடந்த ஒனக்கு…. கலியாணம் சரிவரல்லயா?”
அவளது பிடி மேலும் இருகியது. ஆதரவாக ஷிப்னாவின் கைகளும் அவளது முதுகைத் தடவி,
”ஏ…. நீ வா…. வந்து ரெண்டு ரகாஅத் சுக்ர் தொழு…”
பர்ஹா அவசரமாக அவளை விட்டு நகர்ந்து முகத்தை நோக்கினாள்.
”எந்தேன் பாக்கிய…. இதுகும் அல்லாட நாட்டம் தான். அவன் ஒருநாளும் ஒன்ன கண்டவங்கட கைல ஒப்படச்சியல்ல…. எல்லம் ஹைர் தான்…. போ… தொழுதுட்டு வா…”
அவள் வுழூ செய்யப்போனாள்.
‘அல்லாவே இவளுக்கு நல்ல வாழ்கக்கய அமச்சி குடு ‘ ஷிப்னாவின் உள்ளம் இறைவனை இறைஞ்சியது.
சற்று நேரத்தின் பின்,
”ஷிப்ன தாத்தா…. என்ன தொழ செல்லீட்டு நீங்க எந்தேன் பலமான யோசினேல….”
புன்முறுவலுடன்,
”இல்ல நீ தொழங்காட்டீம் டீ ஊத்தீட்டு வைட் பண்ணிகொணீந்த….”
”அதுசரி…. தாங்கோ டீ…”
”இந்தா குடி….” தேனீர் கோப்பையை நீட்டினாள்.
”எனக்கு எப்போமே ஒகட டீ தான் விருப்பம் தெரீமா…” இவ்வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டவளின் கண்கள் கலங்கத் தொடங்கியது.
பதற்றத்துடன்,
”ஷிப்னதாத்தா பிளீஸ்…. அழவேணம்….” அக்கறையுடன் கண்களைத் துடைத்து விட்டாள்.
”அல்லா… நான் அழல்ல… கொஞ்சம் ஏதோ யாதுவந்த…”
”சரிதான்…. நான் வந்தீச்சப்படாதோ…. ஒகள வீணா கரச்சல் குடுக்கிய….?”
”லுசு மாய் பேசாத…. சரி செல்லு ஊட்ல எந்தேன் நடந்த?”
முகத்தை சுளித்துக் கொண்டு,
”அத எந்துகன் கேக்கிய…. மாப்ள வேற யாரயோ விரும்பின ஒத்தராம்…. ஏன்ட கலியாணம் நடக்காட்டீம் பரவாயில்ல… எகட பரீனாட கலியாணம் என்னால பின்னுகாகியத நெனச்சா சரீக் கவல….”
”அல்லாவே….. நீ லூசுமாய் யோசிச்சாத… அவளுக்கு இப்ப தானே இருவத்து ரெண்டு….”
”ஓ… ஆனாலும் நான் வாப்பாட சென்ன அவளுக்கு பேசுங்கோ என்டு…. இப்பவே பாத்தா தானே…”
”போடீ….. நீ வேற …. எல்லம் நல்லா நடக்கும். அல்லாட மேல முழு நம்பிக்க வை.”
புன்னகையுடன்,
”நீங்க தான் எப்போம் எனக்கு ஆறுதலா பேசிய….. என்னோடயே இருச்சோணும்.”
அவளது கைகளுடன் கைகளை கோர்த்துக் கொணடாள் பர்ஹா.
