2009 வருடத்தில் அக்குரெஸ்ஸ கொடபிட்டிய முஸ்லிம் பள்ளியில் ஏற்பட்ட குண்டு வெடிப்புத் தொடர்பானது. நபி நாயகம் முஹமது நபி அவர்களின் பிறந்த தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு வருடந்தோறும் அரச அனுசரணையுடன் நடைபெறும் மீலாத் நபி பிறந்த தின உற்சவம் 2009இல் மாத்தறை நகரத்தில் ஜுன் மாதத்தில் 25 மற்றும் 26ஆம் திகதி நடாத்துவதற்காகத் தொடக்க விழா 2009.03.10ஆம் திகதி கொடபிட்டிய முஸ்லிம் பள்ளியில் ஆரம்பமானது. இந்த உற்சவம் அனைத்தும் அக்காலத்தில் ஆட்சியில் இருந்த நீதிமன்ற மற்றும் புனருத்தாபன அமைச்சர் மதிப்பிற்குரிய சந்திரசிறி கஜவீர அவர்களால் வழிநடாத்தப்பட்டது.
அன்றைய தினத்தில் திட்டமிட்டபடி அனைத்து வேலைத்திட்டங்களும் மிகச் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றதுடன் 10 அமைச்சர்களுடன் மாகாண சபை மந்திரிகளும் மாகாண ஆளுநர் நிறுவனத்தின் தலைமைகளோடு மந்திரிகள், அதிகமான பிரபுக்களும் கலந்துகொண்டனர். இந்த உற்சவத்தின் ஆரம்ப நிகழ்வான அன்று காலை 5 மணி தொடக்கம் மத அனுஸ்டானங்களோடு தர்ம உபதேசம் மற்றும் பல்வேறு விசேட நிகழ்ச்சிகளும் காலை 9 மணி வரை நடைபெற்றது. ஏனைய கலாச்சார நிகழ்ச்சிகள் அனைத்தும் அமைச்சர்கள் மற்றும் விசேட பிரபுக்களின் பங்களிப்புடன் ஒருங்கமைக்கப்பட்ட விதத்தில் மிகச் சிறப்பான முறையில் நடைபெற்றது.
எனினும் அக்காலத்தில் நாட்டில் ஏற்பட்டிருந்த யுத்த நிலைமையானது மிகக் கடுமையாக இருந்தது. இவ்வாறான சூழ்நிலை நாடு முழுவதும் இருந்த நேரத்தில் தான் இதுபோன்ற ஒரு நிகழ்வு நடைபெற்றது. இதுபோன்ற அரச அனுசரணையுடன் சிரேஷ்ட அமைச்சர்களுடன் பிரபுக்களின் பங்களிப்புடன் நடைபெற்ற உற்சவத்திற்கு எந்தவொரு பாதுகாப்பு வேலைத்திட்டங்களும் முன்னெடுக்காத காரணத்தால் பயங்கரவாதிகள் மிக நுணுக்கமாக உற்சவ பூமிக்குள் நுழைந்து தற்கொலைதாரிகளின் குண்டு வெடித்தது.
இக்காரணத்தால் அதிக உயிர்ப்பலி ஏற்பட்டதுடன் அக்காலத்தில் மாத்தறை மாவட்டத்தின் பாராளுமன்ற அமைச்சர் மதிப்பிற்குரிய மஹிந்த விஜேசேகர அவர்களும் நிரந்தர அங்கவீனராகித் துன்பத்துடன் வாழ்க்கை நடாத்துகின்றார்.
அதனால் இதுபோன்ற நிலை மீண்டும் உருவாகாமல் இருக்கப் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட அனுபவங்களுடன் செயற்படுவதற்கு இந்நாட்டின் இராணுவ தலைமைகளுக்கு வழிவகுத்துக் கொடுக்கும்படி மிகுந்த கௌரவத்துடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கின்றேன்.

නබි නායක මුහම්මත් තුමාගේ ජන්ම දිනය නිමිත්තෙන් වාර්ෂිකව රය අනුග්රහයෙන් පවත්වනු ලබන මිලාදුන් නම් ජන්ම දින උත්සවය 2009 වර්ෂයේදී මාතර නගරයේ ජුනි මස විසි පස් වැනි දින සහ විසි හය වැනි දිනයන්හී පැවැත්වීම සදහා නිමිතිකොට ගෙන එම උත්සවයේ සමාරම්භක උත්සවය 2009.03.10 වැනි දින ගොඩපිටිය මුස්ලිම් දේවස්ථානයේ දී ආරම්භ කරන ලදී.
මෙම උත්සවයේ සියලු කටයුතු එවකට රජයේ අධිකරණ හා පුනරුත්තාපන ඇමති ගරු චන්ද්රසිරි ගජධීර මැතිතුමන්ගේ මෙහෙයවීමෙන් සිදු කරන ලදී.
එදින සැලසුම් කරගත් ආකාරයෙන් සියලු කටයුතු ඉතා සාර්ථකව පවත්වන ලද අතර මැති ඇමතිවරුන් දස දෙනෙකුගේ සහභාගිත්වය සහ පළාත් සභා මන්ට්රිවරුන්, පළාත් පාලන ආයතනයන්හි සභාපතිතුමන්ලා හා මන්ත්රීවරුන්ද විශාල ප්රභූ පිරිසක්ද සහභාගී වුහ.
මෙම උත්සවයේ සමාරම්භක උළෙල නියමිත දිනයේදී උදෑසන පහේ සිට ආගමික වතාවන්, ධර්ම දේශනාවන් හා අනෙකුත් විශේෂිත වැඩ සටහන් කිහිපයක් පෙරවරු නවය දක්වා පවත්වනු ලදුව. අනෙකුත් සංස්කෘතික වැඩ කටයුතු මැති ඇමතිවරුන්ගේ හා විශේෂිත ප්රභූවරුන්ගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් සිදු කිරීමට සංවිධානය කර ගත් ආකාරයට ඉතා උත්කර්ෂවත් ආකාරයෙන් පවත්වනු ලද්දේය.
ඒහෙත් ඒම වකවානුවේදී රටේ ඇති වී තිබූ යුධමය තත්වය හේතුවෙන් ඉතා අවධානම් තත්වයක් උදා වී තිබුනි. මෙවැනි ත්රස්ත ක්රියාවන් රට පුරාම බහුලව සිදුවෙමින් පැවතුනු මොහොතකයි මෙම උත්සවයක් පැවැත් වුනේ.
නමුත් මෙයාකාරයට රජයේ අනුග්රහයෙන් ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ ඇමතියරුන්ගේ හා ප්රභූවරුන්ගේ සහභාගිත්වයෙන් පවත්වනු ලැබූ උත්සවයට කිසිදු ආරක්ෂිත වැඩ පිළිවෙලක් ගෙන නොතිබූ හේතුවෙන් ත්රස්තවාදීන් සුක්ෂම ලෙස ඒම උත්සව භූමිය තුලට ඇතුලු වී මරාගෙන මැරෙන බෝම්බ ප්රහාරයන් ඒල්ල කරන ලද්දේය. මෙය හේතුවෙන් ජීවිත රාශියක් අහිමි වූ අතර ඒවකට මාතර දිස්ත්රික් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රී හා අමාත්ය ගරු මහින්ද විජේසේකර මැතිතුමන් සදාකාලිකව ආබාධිත තත්වයට පත් වී දුක් විදිමින් ජීවත් වන්නේය.
ඒම නිසා මෙවැනි තත්වයක් මින් ඉදිරිවට සිදු ෙනාවීම සදහා ලබා ගත් අවබෝධයෙන් කටයුතු කිරීමට ඔබතුමා මෙරටේ සේනාධි නායකත්වයෙන් කටයුතු කර දෙන ලෙස ඉතා ගෞරවයෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටිමි.

Regarding the Bomb Attack in Ancient Mosque in Akuressa Godapitiya in 2009
The national Mila-Dun-Nabi ceremony to celebrate the birth of Holy Nabi 2009 was scheduled to be held in Matara Town on 25.06.2009 and 26.06.2009 and its inaugural ceremony was held in Godapitiya Mosque on 10.03.2009.
All organizing activities of the ceremony was done by the Minister of Justice and Rehabilitation Hon. Endasiri Gajadeera. All activities were done as scheduled on that day and 10 ministers and lot of guests including members of local authorities have participated. Lot of religious activities were scheduled on the ceremony day from 5 a.m. and other cultural functions were scheduled to be held from 9 a.m. with the participation of special guests.
There was a great risk in the country because of the war situation in that period. This ceremony was held at a time when such terrorist activities happened everywhere in the country.
But there was no security program for this national ceremony with the ministers participating. The terrorists secretly entered in to the ceremony premises and made a suicide bomb attack. Lot of lives were lost that day and Parliament Member of Matara District and Minister Hon. Mahinda Wijesekara has become permanently disabled and still suffers.
Therefore, please take action to stop happening such things in future as the Commander of Three Forces by learning a lesson from it.
