Today I am really very happy that a parent (mother) of grade 11 boy called me thanking a lot. She was asking Dua for me.

I said Aameen to he Dua prayers and said May Allah bless you all too.The incident is this. These days exams for grade 11. Therefore, I do monitor & supervise the exam Hall including teachers’ activities and students’ conduct. And if needed I help, guide and support them.

It was day before yesterday 11/11/2019. I was in supervision. I noticed all the children how they are doing. Among those boys, I saw a boy who was indifferent, facing difficulty in reading and writing the paper. So I keenly observed him asked him whether he is having any difficulties. He said that he was ok. He said no problems in his vision.12/11/2019 was a holiday.

On 13/11/2019 , due to busy schedule, I could not do the exam supervision.Today 14/11/2019, again I purposely planned my time and went to the hall for the betterment of all. So , today also I noticed the same boy facing the same difficulty. Then I told him to talk to me after the exam. Then after the exam he came to me.

Then I talked to him kindly and asked his difficulties. The boy did not know that he had a problem. I asked his mother’s contact. Then the boy said I don’t remember my mother’s contact but I know my number. And I got that. Also I gave my contact. As soon as the boy reached home that boy’s mother called me. Then I talked to her.

I told her that her son has some sort of difficulty in vision. Please take him to the doctor today itself. Since there’s only 16 days for the exam. Some children don’t know answers to the questions. Your son should write at least the known answers to the questions. So that he could write well and score well.

Second fact is I asked the mother why she has given her son a smart phone at this age. Also, the mother complained that he used to play games most of the time. The mother was wise that she has oned the loudspeaker keeping her son nearby. (She told me that loudspeaker was on,) I told her that’s very good.

I told the mother, first of all, take phone from your son to you. I asked her not to giver the phone until the exams (G.C.E (O/L) are over. Second thing is you have to take the son to the eye specialist. The mother agreed for both matters ( phone + eye check up). Then I talked the boy to give the phone to the mother and go to the eye check up with mother. He agreed.

It’s like story. But it’s a real story. I’m so happy helping a child and his mother.

Morals : Parents should not give phones to children in their own. Teachers should be watchful about students’ behavior patterns and difficulties. Teacher’s should have a keen observation about their students and inform the parents in the exact time.

Theme – Live and help live.
