இன்றைக்கு ராபர்ட் ஆபீஸ் சென்ற போது அங்கிருந்து அரை மைல் தூரத்தில் இருக்கும் அகழ்வாராய்ச்சி பகுதியை பார்த்து இப்படி கூறினான்.

“இந்த நாள் உங்களுக்கு இனிய நாளாக இருக்கட்டும்… காய்ஸ்… டூ யூவர் பெஸ்ட்….” என்று மனதார கூறிக்கொண்டிருந்த போது பின்னாடி அவன் தோளில் தட்டிய மித்ரத்..

“என்ன பலமாக யோசிக்குறே….?”என்று கேட்டான்.

“ஆஹ் .அது ஒன்னுமில்லை சேர்… சும்மாதான்… நான் உங்களை ஒண்ணு கேட்கலாமா சேர்?” என்றபடியே அவன் பின்னாடி ஆபிஸ் ரூமுக்கு சென்றான்.

“ம். கேளு….”

“நேத்து வந்த திருடன் யாரன்னு கண்டுபிடிச்சீங்களா சேர்… அவனோட நோக்கம் என்ன?”

“ஹ்ம்ம்…திருடன் கிடையாது… திருடி….” என்று மித்ரத் சொன்னதும் ராபர்ட்க்கே பகீர் என்றது..

“இவனுக்கு எப்டி தெரிஞ்சது???”என யோசித்தான்..

“இப்போ ரெண்டு மூணு மாசமா என்னை யாரோ ஃபாலோ பண்ணுறாங்க… ஒரு முறை என்ன கொல்லவும் முயற்சி பண்ணாங்க… அன்னிக்கி அவ ஹோட்டலுக்கு ஒரு சர்வர் போல வேஷம் போட்டுக்கு வந்திருந்தா….விஷம் கலந்த வைனை எனக்கு கொடுத்தா… ஆனா அதை தவறுதலாக குடித்த என்னோட பிரண்ட் இறந்தபோது தான் தெரிந்தது. அது எனக்கு செய்யப்பட்ட சதி என்னு..”

“அப்போ அந்த பொண்ணு முகத்தை நீங்க பார்த்தீங்களா சேர்!”

“அன்னிக்கி ஒரு பார்ட்டி நடந்தது.. அதனால அவ முகத்தை என்னால சரியா பார்க்க முடியல்ல.. ஆனால் அது ஒரு பொண்ணுன்னு தெரியும்…”

“ஒஹ்ஹ்.. உங்களுக்கு யாரு சேர்.. அப்படி ஒரு எதிரி.. ஆச்சர்யமா இருக்கு.. நீங்க எவ்வளவு நல்லவர். இவ்வளவு நல்லவரா இருக்குற உங்கள கொல்ல யாருக்கு சேர் மனம் வரும்..?” என்றெல்லாம் ஐஸ் வைத்து தள்ளினான்..

அவன் மேலே கொஞ்சம் கூட சந்தேகம் வராது இருந்ததால் மித்ரத் சாதாரணமாக பேசிக்கிட்டே இருந்தான். ஆனால் ராபார்ட்டின் எண்ணங்களோ அன்றைக்கு திருட வந்த.  அல்லது இவனை கொல்ல வந்த அந்த பெண்ணையே சுற்றியது.

“நாசமா போனவன்… யார் யாருக்கு என்னென்ன கெடுதல் செஞ்சானோ… அதுதான் இப்படி தொடருது போல..” என்று எண்ணி கொண்டான்.

“ஏன்பா.. கேகே… ஒருநாள் தானே இங்க வேலை செஞ்சே.. அதுக்குள்ள ப்ரொபஸ்ஸனல் லேபர் மாதிரி இப்படி வேலை செய்றே….. இருந்தாலும் உனக்கே இது ஓவரா தெரியல்ல…” என்று கில்கமேஷ் கிட்ட கேட்டான் ஆர்தர்..

“டேய்.. அடிச்சே கொன்னுடுவேன் பேசாம வேலையை பாரு” என்று அதட்டினான் கேகே…

“என்னங்கடா இது ஆளாளுக்கு மிரட்டுறீங்க? ஆஹ். .அது சரி உன் ஆளு வர்றா” என்று தூரத்தில் கையை காட்டி ஆர்தர் சொன்னதும் அந்த பக்கம் திரும்பினால் மீராவும் ஜெனியும் மற்ற சீனியர் ஆர்க்கியொலிஸ்ட்களுடன் வந்து கொண்டிருந்தனர்.

அவர்களுக்கே உரிய தனித்துவமான ஆடைகளுடன் அவர்கள் இவர்கள் இருந்த இடத்துக்கு வந்து சேர்ந்தனர். சீனியர் ஆர்க்கியொலிஸ்ட் ஏதேதோ சொல்ல அவற்றை எல்லாம் குறிப்பு எடுத்து கொண்டு இருந்தார்கள் இவர்கள். கில்கமேஷ், ஆர்தர் போன்ற ஊழியர்கள் தாங்கள் மணலை தோண்டும் போது வரும் தொல்பொருட்களை அவ்வப்போது ஓரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து சேர்த்தனர். அவற்றினை பற்றி ஜெனி குறிப்பெடுத்து கொண்டிருந்தாள். அப்போது கில்கமேஷ் கையில் ஒரு பொருள் அகப்பட்டது. அதை பார்த்ததும் அவனால் உணர்ச்சிகளை கட்டுப்படுத்த முடியவில்லை.

“திடீரென நம்ம மன்னருக்கு என்னாச்சு?”என்று யோசித்து கொண்டே ஆர்தர் அவன் அருகில் வந்து பார்த்தால் அது ஒரு வெள்ளித்தட்டு. எதேச்சையாக வேலை நடுவே தூரமாக நின்று கில்கமேஷை பார்த்த ஜெனி  பதறிப்போனாள்.

“ஹே ஜெனி உனக்கு என்னாச்சு..?”

“கில்கமேஷ் அழுறான் டி…. அவன் கண்கலங்கி நான் பார்த்ததே இல்லை டி.. அவனே அழுகிற மாதிரி என்னது அது…..”

“அவசரப்பட்டு அங்க போய்டாதே.. நம்ம சீனியர்ஸுக்கு சந்தேகம் வந்துடும்…” என்றாள் மீரா. அவனை பார்த்து என்னன்னு கேட்டு அவனுக்கு ஆறுதல் சொல்லமுடியாமல் தவித்தாள் ஜெனி.

“இது என்ன கேகே.. எதுக்காக இதை பார்த்து அழுரே! தயவுசெய்து கண்ணை துடைச்சிக்கே.. உன்னை இப்படி பார்க்க வருத்தமா இருக்கு… எவ்வளவு பெரிய ஹீரோ நீ… இப்படி அழலாமா..” என்று ஆர்தர் கேட்டான்.

“இது என்கிடுவோட தட்டு… அவனுக்கு என்னோட அம்மா நின்சுன் கொடுத்த அன்பளிப்பு இது…… இதை பார்க்கும் போது என்னால அவன் நினைவுகளை கட்டுப்படுத்த முடியல்ல அதுதான் அழுகையா வந்திடுச்சு..” என்றான் கேகே. அவன் தோளில் கை வைத்து,

“இந்த இடம் முழுக்க உங்க நினைவுகள் தான் இருக்கு… நீ வருத்தப்படாதே… எப்படியும் நாம என்கிடு உடம்பை கண்டுபிடிச்சு அவனை திரும்ப கொண்டுவந்துடுவோம் “என்று அவனை தேற்றினான். அவனும் அதன் பின்னர் அந்த தட்டினை உரிய இடத்தில் கொண்டுபோய் வைத்து விட்டு மறுபடி வேலையை செய்ய ஆரம்பித்தான்.

டிடானியா அவளுடைய காலேஜில் ஒரு பையனோட பேசிக்கொண்டு இருந்தாள். அந்த பையை அவனிடம் கொடுத்து

“உன்னோட உதவிக்கு ரொம்ப தாங்ஸ் விக்டர்.. என்னோட லட்சியத்துக்கு நீ பண்ணுற சின்ன சின்ன ஹெல்ப் எவ்வளவு உதவியா இருக்கு தெரியுமா?” என்று கேட்டாள்..

“நம்ம லட்சியம்.. என்று சொல்லு” என விக்டர் சொல்ல இருவரும் கையடித்து கொண்டனர்.
