“கன்ங்ராஜிலேஷன் மிஸ்டர் அதீக் ஒரு அழகான குட்டி இளவரசிக்கு வாப்பாவாகிட்டீங்க.”
“அல்ஹம்துலில்லாஹ் ரொம்ப தேங்ஸ் டொக்டர்..”
“இது எல்லாம் என்னத்துக்கு? போய் உங்க குழந்தய பாருங்க.”
வியர்வை சொட்டுக்களால் அவன் முகம் நனைந்திருக்க, தன் மகளையும், மகளைத் தந்த மனைவியையும் பார்க்க விரைந்தான். அங்கு சர்மி ஆழ்ந்த நித்திரையிலிருக்கவே வாப்பாவின் முகத்தைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தது அந்தக் குட்டி இளவரசி.
“இன்னம் மயக்கம் போல”
மனைவியை பார்த்தவன் தலையை வருடி அவள் படர்ந்த நெற்றியில் முத்தங்களைப் பதித்தான். அதற்குள் அந்த இடத்தையே அதிர வைப்பதாய் “கேஷ்” என்று அழத்துவங்கி விட்டாள் அவன் மகள்.
“ஹோ உம்மாவுக்கு முத்தம் கொடுத்தது மகளுக்கு பொறாம போல”
பக்கத்திலிருந்த உறவுக்காரர்கள் நையாண்டி பண்ண, பிள்ளையை தூக்கி அணைத்துக் கொண்டான். இந்த குட்டி இளவரசி அதீகின் இரண்டாவது பிள்ளை. அதனால் மகளை தூக்கிக் கொள்வதில் தந்தைக்கு சிரமம் இருக்கவில்லை.
“என் புள்ள” தன் நிமிர்ந்த நெஞ்சில் சாய்ந்திருக்கும் மகளை பார்த்துக் கொண்டே ஆனந்தம் பொங்க வாய்விட்டுச் சொன்னான் அதீக். அதற்குள் விழித்துக் கொண்ட சர்மி, தன் உறவுக்காரர்கள் சூழ்ந்திருக்க கட்டிலை உரசி பிள்ளையை தேடினாள்.
“நம்ம குழந்த, உம்மாவ தேடி அழுதுட்டே இருக்க நான் தூக்கி எடுத்தன்மா”
சந்தோஷம் நிறைய மனைவியை பார்த்து மகளை நீட்டினான் அதீக். கணவனின் சந்தோஷத்தை இரசித்த சர்மி, அவன் கைகளை பற்றிக் கொள்ள மனைவியின் கைகளுக்கு முத்தங்களை கொடுத்தவனாய் மகளை அவள் பக்கம் உறங்க வைத்தான். இங்கு கட்டிலில் வைத்ததுமே தாயின் சூட்டில் சுருண்டு கொண்ட மகளை தந்தையும் தாயுமாய் ஒருசேர இரசித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனர்.
“உம்மாவ போலவே இருக்காள், அழகான கண்ணு, குட்டி உதடு, ஹஹ் என் சர்மியே தான்..
நோ.. இந்தா பாருங்க உங்க மூக்கு அப்புடியே இவள்கிட்ட இருக்கு,
மகள்குட்டி உம்மாவ போல இருந்தா தானே எனக்கு சந்தோஷம்..?”
மகளோடு சேர்ந்து மனைவியையும் அன்போடு பார்க்க, நாணத்தோடு பார்வையை தாழ்த்திக் கொண்டாள் சர்மி.
“அப்படி இப்படி நமக்குன்னு இப்போ ரெண்டு குழந்தைகள், ரொம்ப சந்தோஷமா இருக்கு சர்மி.. இது ரெண்டயும் நல்லா வளக்கனும்.. இனி நம்ம லெய்ப் நம்மளோட புள்ளகளுக்கு தான்மா.”
கணவன் ஏதேதோ சொல்ல அவன் முகத்தை முறைத்துப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தாள் சர்மி..
“ஏன்மா இப்புடி பார்வ?”
“புள்ளகள் புள்ளகள்னு என்ன மறந்துவிட போறீங்க..” மனைவி பொய் கோவம் காட்ட,
“உனக்குத் தான் இரண்டு புள்ளகள். எனக்கு உன்னோட சேர்த்து மூனு பேர், உங்க மூனு பேரோட சந்தோஷமும் தான் எனக்கு வேண்டியது சர்மி
“ஹே! நான் சும்மா கலாய்க்க சொன்னன். விட்டா போதுமே சென்டிமன்டா பேசுவீங்க”
தங்களுக்காகவே வாழும் தன் கணவன் சொல்வது உண்மையாயினும் நகைச்சுவையாய் கதையை முடித்தாள் சர்மி. பிறகு மனைவியின் கைப்பிடியிலிருந்து அகன்ற அதீக் அவளோடு உராய்ந்திருந்த மகளுக்கு முத்தங்கள் இரண்டை பதித்து விட்டு ஏதோ நினைப்பில் வெளியிறங்கிச் செல்லவே, அவள் உறவுக்காரர்களால் நிறைந்திருந்தது அந்தப் பிரிவு.
