அன்போடு வாழ்வைத் தந்த அமுதே!
ஆயுளோடு பாரில் குழவி நான் பிறக்க
இன்னளோடும் கருவில் இதமாக சுமந்தாயே!
ஈருயிரோடு பக்குவமாய் நீ இருக்க
உயிரோடு உனக்குள் ஒட்டி இருந்ததும் நானே!

ஊண் உறக்கம் இன்றி தவித்த தாயே!
என் உடல் உனக்குள் சொகுசாய் இருக்க
ஏன் உடல் நொந்து தவித்து இருந்தாய் நீயே!
ஐன்ஸ்டைன் போல் மேதையாய் வளர்க்க
ஒன்பதும் எண்ணி கருவாய் என்னை சுமந்தாயே!

ஓய்வறை என கருவறை சுகம் தந்தவளே!
ஔதசியமாய் உன் கபடமற்ற மனம் இருக்க
கண் குளிர அழகுமலர் முகம் கொண்டவளே!
காரிகை உன் வயிற்றுள் நான் மெல்ல சறுக்க
கிறுகிறுப்பு வாந்தியுடன் பதறித் தவித்த தாயே!

சரித்திரம் படைத்திடு என உரைத்தவளே!
சாதனை நான் காண கால் கடுக்க
சிரமம் தாங்கி தினம் தோறும் உழைத்தவளே!
ஞானத்தால் தவறில் நான் விழாமல் தடுக்க
தண்டனையென சிறு கண்டிப்பு தரும் அன்பவளே!

தாய்ப்பாலுடன் பண்பையும் கலந்து தந்த அமுதே!
தியாகத்தின் முழுச் சுடராய் நீ இருக்க
நலமான வாழ்வை எனக்கென அமைத்தவளே!
நாள்தோறும் பொக்கிஷமாய் என்னைக் காக்க
நிறம் மாற்றும் வெயிலிலே நின்றே புகைந்தவளே!

பத்து மாதம் என்னைச் சுமந்த தேவதையே!
பாரில் உன் போல் யாருண்டு மேனி சிலிர்க்க
பிரியமாய் என்னைக் கொஞ்சும் தாரகையே!
மகத்துவக் குணம் எனக்குள் சில முளைக்க
மாசு இல்லா குணத்தோடு வாழ்ந்தவளே!

யதார்த்த உலகில் வாழக் கற்றுத் தந்தாயே!
யானை பலத்தை மனதில் பதிக்க
வழிகாட்டி பண்பாய் வளர்த்த அன்புத் தாயே!
வாகைகள் என்னைச் செதுக்க
விளக்கமாய் வாழ்ந்து காட்டிய காரிகையே!

அன்பில் வளர் பிறை ஆகி இருப்பவளே!
இதமான பண் இசை குரல் தொடுக்க
உதடுகள் அசைத்து தாலாட்டுப் பாடியவளே!
எதிர்பாராத பல இன்பம் எனக்களிக்க
ஐயாயிரம் முறை சிந்தையில் உறைபவளே!

அகிலம் போற்றும் உறவாவதும் அன்னையே!
ஆயிரம் காலம் தாண்டியும் போற்ற தக்க
இனியவளாய் வாழும் மரகதமே தாயவளே!
ஈட்டி முனையென தீட்டி அறிவை  நான் பெருக்க
உகந்த வழி காட்டித் தரும் என் முதல் ஆசானே!

ஊக்கம் தரும் உளியென நின்றவளே!
எளிமையில் நான் பிறப்பெடுக்க
ஏணிப்படியாய் நின்று நாளும் உயர்த்தியவளே!
ஐந்து முடித்தது ஐம்பது என்னை நோக்க
ஒரே அன்பை மாறாமல் தந்த பெண் சுடரிவளே!
